Some
Actual Olson 30 Chord Lengths
Here are the results of measurements taken on a number of
Olson 30s in Seattle by a class-appointed team headed by Stacey
Wilson (Splash Tango). The keel chord length numbers passed
in the 1999 amendments to the class constitution make all
of these boats legal. They represent a wide enough spread
so that one may hope that no existing Olson 30 keel would
fall outside these numbers unless it has been radically modified
beyond the pale of the class. (See the text of the 1999
amendments for language and numbers.)
