The San Francisco Olson
30 Fleet, wants to invite
all Olson 30 boats, boat owners
and their crews to a FREE, Racing and
Rigging Seminar. The date is Saturday, April
28 and will be held at Richmond Yacht Club from
10am until 4pm, with an optional, no
host dinner at a location to be determined. This
will be in the classroom and on the water!
Scott Easom, Easom Rigging and Racing, will be discussing and presenting.
Classroom topics will include:
- Boat Set Up: mast and rig tuning for all wind and conditions
- Jib and Genoa leads, placement and theories for speed
- Sail trimming and sheeting for maximum speed
- Sails and sail inventory for the Bay
- Individual discussion on your boat about rigging adjustments and ideas
- On the water topics will begin with start line tactics and the afternoon will be for on the water drills and short races.
Scott Easom has been involved in Grand Prix racing, worldwide, for more than twenty years and is an incredible resource for us and the fleet. Currently working with Roy Disney organizing the 2007 Transpac campaign for Pyewackett and the Morning Light project, he has the experience and knowledge to help each of us bring our boats, and skills, up another level. This will be a day not to miss!
To make this work we need to have at least 5 committed boats and their crews! We will not limit the number attending, and if crews are needed we can help to organize extras.
