Olson 30 The Source.
Highly modified boat, professionally built to a very high standard. Selling due to age (80) - owner retiring from racing after 60 years of enjoyment. Price is firm.
This is a one-of-a-kind Olson 30 with many unique and thoughtful features. The Source started as a very dry and original boat, that then underwent a cost-no-object redesign and refit by Elkhorn Composites in 2017. Her owner has been an Olson 30 sailor since the days when the boats were new—and the goal was the build the ultimate Olson 30 for shorthanded sailing, using a more modern deck design and systems. The cockpit has been completely re-imagined, with the floor raised, resulting in a more open and ergonomic area. Almost all deck penetrations for hardware eliminated and replaced with rope-eyes. Floating lead system and Harken roller furling for the headsails. Redesigned companionway hatch. Redesigned toe rails, stanchions pulpit and pushpit. Incredible running rigging design with halyards to mast base and controlled from the companionway. The boat has always been dry stored and is sitting on an excellent tandem trailer. Ullman sails have literally four races total on them. Every thing was replaced new, please if you do not know or understand what has been done and you like what you see, call for questions & answers.
Thanks for looking. Many more photos available and will be posted soon. Dry store at Channel Island, for inspection.
