Okay folks. Time to get down to business. Below are the options we have available. I am setting up an online vote. Please send me an email scot oldschoolracing ca to request a ballot. If you don’t request a ballot, you will not be able to vote. The vote will be at a third-party website, just like last year. Maintaining the NA’s tradition, you do not need to be an association member in order to vote on this. One vote per boat. YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO COMPETE IF YOUR FIRST CHOICE IS THE SUCCESSFULL CANDIDATE. You will be required to become a member in order to compete.

Once this year is decided, we will then discuss the 2013 venue. I have received interest from Dallas and WLIS thus far.

June 21-24 Royal Hamilton Yacht Club, Hamilton, ON
We would be part of the Rock the Hammer Regatta, which is a regional regatta. Similar racing format as in the past, with a distance race plus three days of courses. In addition to the racing RHYC will be providing a milieu of extra events after racing each day, including a live band on Saturday night. RHYC also has an outdoor swimming pool and adequate space for squatters in tents etc. Within walking distance of the Club are some fantastic ethnic eateries, as well as culture filled clubs and many galleries to enjoy. Cost will be similar to Barrie, but not confirmed at this point. Hoist is available, free rafting. Competitors are reminded that the hoist is NOT TO BE USED for placing a Shark into the swimming pool during the regatta.

August 1-5 LYRA at Oswego, NY
This is a major regatta for Lake Ontario that occurs the weekend after Levels. Different racing format. Wed is a 60 mile distance race. Lay day Thursday, then three days of course racing Fri – Sun. Up to three races daily. If we request, they are willing to consider adding some races for us on the lay day. Two-ton hoist and crane available (crane $250 extra). Registration is around $200, free rafting, early registration bonus is chicken and ribs dinner for skipper and crew on Friday night. If you want to be eligible for the LYRA overall trophy, you must also participate in one of the feeder races July 31. Saturday Caribbean party with steel drum band.

September 20-23 Raritan Yacht Club, Perth Amboy, NJ
We would be participating in the Fall Series which is an annual weekend regatta. With the Olson 30’s, however, we will be able to supply 4 days of racing with a distance race on Thursday which would be on the order of 25 + miles. This race can be longer if necessary. This race would use all 4 lighthouses on Raritan Bay and New York Harbor Lower Bay. We will be able to have specially priced meals at the club as we have a full galley and for anyone who likes other cuisine, there are multiple choices in the area. There is a excellent party after racing on Saturday which continues into the night with a live band. $120 including launch, haul and step

We would love to participate and support the class, but unfortunatly none of the dates work for us. The early dates June thru. Mid August is just too busy for us work wise. And it just happens that the September date conficts for us with a previous commitment.

    Regretfully
