This will serve as the official posting place for Amendments to the Olson 30 Class Constitution. Post here anything you would like to have taken to the meeting and voted on. The General meeting will take place at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club on June 23, 2012 at 0830 hours.
Proposed Amendment to the Olson30 Class Association Constitution
Article XI 3a) Insert after the word “pulpits” the following statement.
Bow pulpits may be changed to a more modern design allowing the Spinnaker pole to be carried lower for the purpose of flying Asymmetric spinnakers in non fleet events. Stern pulpits may be changed to a two rail system with a lifeline between them to facilitate outboard motor installation and removal. If such a stern pulpit is used the boat must carry its outboard motor’s mount in place on the transom, as a corrector weight, during a fleet sanctioned event.
ARTICLE IX – AMENDMENTS
This Constitution and its By-Laws shall not be suspended but may be amended by a two-thirds vote at any National Class Association meeting. Any amendment to the Constitution or its By-Laws shall be put to vote only if the proposed amendment has been mailed via the Postal Service or electronic mail, i.e. E-mail, to the entire membership. For these purposes it shall be sufficient that the proposed amendment be postmarked or transmitted no later than thirty days prior to the day of voting. The National Executive Board may amend the By-Laws at any time by a three-fourths vote of its duly constituted membership.
THIS YEARS DEADLINE WILL BE MAY 25thDue to the growth in the class this year, up to about 40+ members, we were unable to vote on any changes at this years Annual Meeting. No changes were made to the Class Constitution. We would like to keep this tread going for next year. We will also work on getting Proxy’s out to the members so a vote can be made by those attending the Annual meeting. Next years meeting will be held on June 29th at ABYC. This is in conjunction with next years National Championship during LBRW June 28-30th 2013.
