Is anyone running a barberhauler on their # 1 to move the clew out a bit and open slot? Thinking it may help a bit not sure of the logistics or fittings required to make it work. Does it need to be movable to adjust with car?

I would think you would have to have a higher cut clew in order to pull the clew outward if sheeted hard. We use heavy snatch blocks to barberhaul when reaching off close hauled..but you wouldn’t use them in buoy racing..only long leg port to port legs as you would have to disconnect the clew at every tack. I think jibs would be a different story..use an open ring the sheet goes through..maybe use the twings?
