How much Deck Flex do You see they when You use them.
cheek, as in jib turning blocks? Zero deck flex. Put in some plywood for backers if you are getting flex.
We still have the primary winches in their original position, so the flex happens at the winch, not the block. Are you using cabin-top winches?
I did some investigating last winter and found some delamination under our starboard winch caused by the flexing. Now that the delam is fixed, the flex is almost gone. If you are seeing a lot of flex, particularly at a cheek block, I’d have a close look at your deck.
This is why quite a few boats have gone to toe-rail mounted turning blocks. I had to slide my spin blocks out. My genoa blocks still looked solid when I last inspected them, so I just put some oversized aluminum backing plates under them.
I’ve been using white plastic cutting board material as backing plates, above and below decks. Works well for cam cleat wedges too…

Makes it a little difficult to slice up the cheese & veggies for h’orderves, doesn’t it?True, but the cork screw is at the ready.
