I’m looking to replace the teak traveler supports and cabin hatch pieces with white Starboard. I’ve contacted a couple of places in Florida and they were reluctant to fabricate replacement parts. Any Olson owners out there that have found someone to fabricate out of Starboard for a reasonable price? Any other ideas to get rid of the teak? Thanks.

Starboard would not be a top choice for this. It’s very soft. On our boat we used UV stable Delrin. Teak or Ipe are very good choices too. If you think about it Teak is really one of the best options. It’s very dense, lasts almost forever, fairly easy to work with.

Thanks for the info – I’ll look into Delrin and Ipe.

Ipe is very dense and difficult to machine, Delrin or teak are much easier.
